It takes a community. Yes? No house stands alone. Right? Why then do buyers put on blinders when they assess a house?

Here’s a simple, but often unused, tip to avoid this common trap:

Pause a moment on the front porch to take in the view. Ditto at the living room window, the bedroom windows, not to mention that sweet window above the kitchen sink. What do you see? (Not what you want to see, or what you might see if things change, etc)

In their haste to win an offer on a home in a tight market, buyers will fall prey to missing the obvious.

The wise among us, though, will take heed and remember that it could get old looking a someone’s mess after while.

“Come on over for a 🍷glass of wine on the porch,” they might find themselves saying. “Just ignore the—peeling paint, untended yard, junk, barking dog, fill in the blank—next door.
